BP&L’s knowledge of Health & Safety in the port industry assists Port of Jurong in continuous Health & Safety improvement whilst delivering more efficient cargo handling systems.
Following an open tender process BP&L were awarded a contract to assist Port of Jurong conduct an Operational Efficiency and Health & Safety Study. This applied to all general cargo operations including small vessel operations with specific emphasis on steel and timber handling.
BP&L conducted a prevailing conditions report which included how existing systems were applied and how these maintained risk control. This led to a new strategy being proposed addressing labour reform and training along with investment plans to address lifting strategy and specific commodity handling systems designed to further reduce risk and build on Jurongs strong commitment to safety on board vessel and in their port estate.
