BP&L’s core port and terminal capabilities have been applied in the transformation of a former power station barge dock to a highly complex port facility in support of offshore renewable energy developments.
Following an open tender process BP&L were awarded a contract to assist Municipal Councils inward investment arm in the maritime components of a dock conversion project. The project was based on the conversion of a former power station ash barge dock through works to deepen and widen the existing dock to create a deep water facility suitable for construction vessels supporting offshore renewable developments.
BP&L’s involvement was to provide technical and operational advice and develop a procurement strategy with delivery plan to procure a suitable dock operator with the capabilities required to meet the demands of specific renewable energy inward investment enquiries.
