BP&L’s conducted extensive studies in both the technical and commercial feasibility components of the master plan review.
BP&L’s capabilities led them to conduct a wholescale review of the proposed master plan. This addressed the growth at existing terminals and reviewed the requirements for proposed facilities. The review included demand and traffic forecasting, inter-modal effects, alternative layout assessments, and capital and operational cost determination followed by financial evaluation.
Outcomes maximised land use to encourage industry clustering and address predicted growth for current port throughputs and potential new trades. Outcomes addressed:
- Extension to existing container terminal
- Development of a second large scale container terminal
- LNG berth
- General cargo and dry bulks terminal
- Automotive terminal
- Logistics Zone
- Inter-Modal arrangements
